Klagenfurt is located on the eastern end of Lake Wörthersee, Europe's
warmest and largest alpine lake. There are so many things to do
including festivals, sports, exceptional dining, castles, history,
European architecture and cycling. Klagenfurt is also one of Europe's
best kept secret holiday destinations. You won't find it on any glossy
travel brochures but rather from excited people who have visited
Klagenfurt attending one of the annual events or passing through to
Slovenia or Italy (only 30 minutes drive).
Access since 2007 has been
improved with a 700km autobahn linking Klagenfurt to the French Rivera
via northern Italy.
