Christkindl Market
Klagenfurt is never short of a good market but
The 'Christkindl Market' is said
by many people to be the most beautiful advent market in the
Alps-Adriatic region. Held on Neuer Platz around Klagenfurt's landmark -
the Lindwurm - dozens of traditionally decorated stalls offer their
goods - here the fresh alpine air turns rich and spicy with the
fragrance of Christmas cookies, roasted apples and hot mulled wine with
cinnamon.
Flohmarkt
The Flohmarkt is an annual event on the last weekend in August on and
around the cathedral square in Klagenfurt. This is now the largest flea
market of Austria an is so big that they have a separate section for
children's bric-a-brac. There is something for everyone from collectors
to treasure hunters.
